The fabulous Polish trumpet player Tomasz Stanko died at the age of 76. This ends a life full of fantastic music, mostly recorded for ECM. I was lucky to see him perform a couple of times at North Sea Jazz. May he play upon the Big Stage forever. |

A major loss, no doubt. I read about this at downbeat.com a few days ago. He was a major player, and spawned some great groups in his wake, especially the sublime Wasilewski trio. -- Good to see you, thehague. Don’t be a stranger!
