I’ve been able to see Jason 3 times since last December. The first was in a library in Iowa with maybe 15 people. After
he played I went over to see what cd’s he had to sell, and after seeing the Images of Metheny I was sold from then
on. This last weekend’s Elnoro Guitar Festival concert was amazing. The night before I enjoyed Pat’s amazing
concert. It was interesting to see the hands go up when he asked how many were at Pat’s concert the night before.
Today I was searching podcasts for interviews of Jason and found a nugget of info at
http://nikhilhoganshow.libsyn.com/jason-vieaux-classical-guitarist . "Pat Metheny has composed a 4-movement suite
for Vieaux which will be premiered later this year. " |

Thanks for the link to the podcast. I’ve been a fan of Jason’s covers of Pat’s material for years. Really shows how Pat’s
material is so strong that it’s open to many interpretations.

I posted in the Garage a couple years ago about Jason. I’ve seen him twice and he’s phenomenal. He’s popularized classical guitar more than anyone in the past 50 years. If you get the chance, go see him!

Jason Vieaux is amazing, and it’s wonderful that Pat has shown interest and admiration for him, also.

Thanks for the intro to Jason, broph, and for the link to the podcast, which was interesting. I put a couple of discs by Vieaux on hold at the library and look forward to listening to his music. Much appreciated.
