Although the tune title thing has been covered quite a bit, I would really like to know the significance and or story behind the titling of The Bat and The Bat part 2. Such a strange title(s) for these two hauntingly beautiful ballads. How do the two works relate to each other as you see it?

first of all, they are the same tune, just done in two different treatments. the notes are exactly the same. it was originally written with dewey redman in mind who was featured on that piece on the 80/81 record. the title is a shortened version of the last name of my girlfriend of many years around that time.
