In the December Downbeat magazine Readers Poll Pat was #1 Guitar and Side-Eye NYC Album of the year. Great interview/article on Pat. He mentions all his projects and some of the tours planned for 2023 & 2024. I am worn out from just reading about it. Sixty-eight years old and no signs of him slowing down. I believe tour announcements will be coming soon. Already two shows for 2023 on Schedule above.

Bookmark and Share naut: I love the description "quiet electric guitar", total opposite of Zero Tolerance For Silence. I would love to catch that solo tour. Both Bill Frisell and John Scofield put out solo records recently. Scofield’s was purer solo with some overdubs. I need to listen to it with my headphones.

Bookmark and Share patsfan: Thank you for the kind words. Like my momma said "there is always someone worse of than you" and something about a box of chocolates. It would have been a worse year without great live Jazz and great records. 2023 has to be better, hopefully a lot. I need one more MRI to get a $50 Gift Card from my medical provider. Just kidding, but should be the deal. Have a cool Yule!

Bookmark and Share In that article, Pat spoke about a solo record "he said will revolve around ’quiet electric guitar.’” Rosenwinkel has done just that with the sometime-to-be-released Berlin Baritone. The great ones are thinking along the same lines once again.

Bookmark and Share patsfan : My thoughts are that Pat’s taking the rest of 2022 off for recovery and family time. With the next Side-Eye record with young musicians and the solo record project, he probably needs four months for that. Then back on the road for the next tours. I expect more tour will be announced soon. Already a show in NYC and Washington DC on sale according to above Schedule and News. I hope and need to see him live somewhere this year. I have had a crappy year. I am still on medical leave since February 1st. Pat live is the best medicine, but is highly addictive.

Bookmark and Share Marc …. We’ll, good news … and bad news ,,, Pat’s recent interview implied he is taking a 6 month break. …. Something that he needs after 40 years of traveling the planet . But I think it will only boost new waves of creativity and young colleagues. …. I can’t wait for the next era of Pat’s creativity…
