I’m currently in a guitar duo and we do a version of Always and Forever which segues nicely into the standard “Skylark” by Hoagy Carmichael https://youtu.be/Myuz_ZFPv6w (if anyone cares to listen!) It’s been interpreted by many jazz musicians over the years (including Mike Metheny) and I can imagine Pat doing maybe a nylon string version. My question is this: to anyone’s knowledge, has he ever played the tune? There is certainly no officially released version and I’ve never heard it crop up on any bootleg, nor is it on YouTube. It’s a beautiful piece and I can’t believe he hasn’t done it. |
