I had several of her big band records and saw her at the Detroit Jazz Festival about ten years ago. It was after Charlie
Haden had passed and the debuted the Charlie Haden Documentary, Rambling Boy. Carla and several other
musicians spoke about him either before or after the doc. I saw the Charlie Haden Liberation Music Orchestra, led
by Carla with Steve Swallow on bass (electric bass). Excellent performance, film and discussion. I highly recommend
watching the documentary. Charlie was a very funny and great musician and person.
