Question: | Greetings to Pat (or whomever reads this). I'm curious if the head to "Sirabhorn" from "Bright Size Life" is played in an alternate tuning? The only way I could get it to work is by raising the B string to C. I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know. It's a great tune and I find it's spirit hauntingly beautiful. Many Thanks. |

hi bill, if you are referring to the way it was originally recorded on "bright size life" - yes, not only a weird tuning, but on a 12 string. all of the pairs of strings were tuned with the second (lower) of the two tuned down a 5th. the same tuning was used on that record on "midwestern nights dream". however, both of them can be played just fine on a regular guitar tuned a regular way. you just would get a less "clustery" sound. best from pat |
